Big Mikes Sunday Thoughts

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Quiet day ahead of a possibly big Trading day so I will update moves on the Forum or Chat Room.

Two events take the limelight – the Test & the Open at Turnberry. We are in a great position in the Test but the Open is tricky indeed.

Watson continues to defy the layers and there is a huge liabilty for some people on Betfair :-

1000.00 £1,632

Yes over a million.

Fisher was swinging beautifully and I am also hopeful Westwood can continue to hit the fairways. Fisher still has his wifes current position to worry about and thats why I have sided more with Lee.

I have now filled up the Portfolio to the £100 with bets on the top 7. We are of course vulnerable to a player who hits the birdie trail but I have done my best to concentrate on the players who I feel will challenge today.

I will try and keep on the ball with any changes later.

In the Test our position is England + £31 Australia + £15 & the Draw is + £36 and we have 3 mines outstanding on the Draw line which I want to cancel now. I will update when I have seen the first few overs maybe as at this time its not clear what Strauss is going to do. If there is cloud cover I would feel it wise to declare immediately. Really Australia should not win here from this position but it is a venue where they have not lost since 1934. Records are meant to be broken of course.

The new filters for the Hughies worked OK on Saturday so lets hope the deep joy curve continues to be upwards. The Double Diamond landed as well which
pleased me especially on the hardest day of the week to find winners.

Big Mikes Saturday Thoughts

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Good morning. My banker in the Open, Tiger – misses the cut and the Aussies in trouble. Mixed emotions I suppose. I have updated trades on the Forum via a thread for the Golf and a chatroom post for the Creekit. The Position there is England + £44 Australia + £45 & The Draw + £1.

My Girl Friday – Luan – is away for a fortnight so always chase me if I am behind with emails in the next two weeks.

Another Quietish day for me today. As I mentioned I have inserted this new filter into the Hughie system so the bets overall should progress well though I am still much happier playing on the NH rather than the Flat for obvious reasons. Keep betting the Turbo Hughie. 100% record over the last 3 days.

Non Runners. Cant do anything about it I am sad to report. Punters remain bottom of the barrel and unless we have a complete radical change then nothing will alter. We had 2 yesterday in a patent and today already I have had to alter the bets because of another one. Beware of less than 8 again and PLEASE use Betfair when the brown envelopes appear.

Super League – Waring bet. An absolute cracker posted on the Forum. A full 6 point margin at last and a bet where you should make a lot of money as its also played in running on TV tomorrow evening.

Big Mikes Thursday Thoughts

Short message from me today as my mind is on the Test Match and Open Golf trades.

The Test Match trade. Again looks weather related with probably a complete washout on 1 day leaving 4 days plus a bit of time made up.

Just one ‘Live Blog Bet’ from me today:

An £12 Hughie (A place bet played via Betfair’s place markets on the horse finishing in the places i.e. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd)

£12 place only on Raccoon 250 Ham at 1.16 (Superb frame ruined by brown envelopes (John Weymes – 0 winners this season and no doubt needs some inward financial help) – but I would be very, very surprised to see this one out of the first 3. Owned by Peter Savill (hates Betting Exchanges with a passion – so dont worry about a drift)
