Big Mike’s Tuesday Thoughts and Each Way Double Bet

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Good morning. Results have been pretty good recently with only the unplaced Conor Zur upsetting things yesterday. Of course we knew our fate before the race with the two ‘rags’ coming out, no doubt assisted by the brown envelopes from the layers. The basic question to be asked is whether the horse would have been the selection had the race been advertised with 6 runners and only 2 places to be paid out on. The answer of course is no and even though the horse hated the going up there we basically were defrauded yet again by the system. Of course Betfair is our only remedy for those precious 3 spots for each way backers.

Good afternoon everyone, from a very damp north west of England. I think there has been quite a lot of rain throughout the country so we have to be careful with the change of going in the horse racing.
Sunday was an interesting Sports day, with the “Toon” showing they are well and truly back, and Bradford Bulls finally ending their losing run.

Quite happy with yesterdays suggestions as I repeat its a very tricky time until we see more NH racing and less Evening racing (end of August looms for that at least). Two good winners out of the 4 and good efforts and placings from the other two.

Quiet again today as York takes centre stage.

Disappointing day with the Racing where we had a return again on the Double Diamond (double) but
I was underwhelmed with the selections efforts.

A small double up in Ireland but basically down to a NR as well.

Salford duly lost quite convincingly which brings me to Wigan. Team
selection/availability is paramount of course – whilst I knew Salfords
position I was alarmed to find Wigan playing so many reserves last night
with two big under achievers in Deacon (looking very slow & ponderous
nowadays) & Tuson. So be it so we live to fight another day with our
Warrington Season long bet. I dont think we will land the win part
though as Wigan only need a point and they still have Bradford Bulls to
play!

Well Man City really should have been 5-0 down at HT as Joe Hart cemented his right to the No 1 shirt with a marvellous display. However the Blues looked much better in the 2nd Half and not many sides will come away from WHL with a point.

So pleased for Blackpool but remember last season when Burnley beat Man U to give a false dawn. Wigan Athletic are unpopular up here mainly due to their Chairmans actions at the Pie Dome and there has been quite a gamble in Rugby League land for Wigan Athletic for the drop. Interesting times.
