Big Mike’s Monday Thoughts and Live Blog Bet

Wimbledon is over but now comes the biggest thing in my Summer. The Ashes. Starting in Cardiff on Wednesday. I hope to be trading the whole series and look forward to members contributions as well. I intend to use the column, chat room and the Board for updates so if you are keen to trade the Cricket please be watchful. There will be times when I have other commitments (rest!, Salford City Reds, other sport events (Open) where I may not be giving it my full shot BUT I intend to make a few bob no matter what during the series.

In fact my first trade starts today. First Test I am backing the draw for £50 @ 7/4 (was 2.74 on Betfair). Please remember this is my initial TRADE. I am not for one moment suggesting the result will be a Draw. Just feel that before Wednesday 12 noon the draw will be shorter than the current mark. Remember that if you don’t quite get the same price as me do not worry – lay or bet just a bit more to compensate and members can ALWAYS email me if in trouble.

Yesterdays racing was overshadowed by the magnificent Roddick effort and I bet many members were delighted to have laid Federer at 1.13 for 200 as a Trading Tool. The swings were quite remarkable as ever.

Another BIG round of applause to Hawkeye on the Forum who put members onto Rochdale Hornets against his Hunslet side. Inside information of the HIGHEST quality and news that you would not get anywhere else. I went to the match and although his side were ‘triers’ it was clear that there would only be one winner in the match – and that was Rochdale.

Disappointed with just one yesterday and of course it was ridden by the much maligned Mickey Fenton. Tom Tate’s yard can normally be trusted but 2 runs over the weekend have prompted me to ’steer clear’ until I have seen more consistent signs – preferably without Fenton. The other 4 ran OK and one Irish member was very smug with me this morning when he told me he just had a double on the two Irish winners at 11/4 & 9/4. Much shrewder than me.

Congratulations to Adrian Bonk who recently joined my main service and won June’s prize draw which is available for all new paying members to enter provided they complete my membership entry survey. The prize as always is one months free membership to my full service. So well done Adrian!

Just one ‘Live Blog Bet’ from me today:

An £8 Hughie (A place bet played via Betfair’s place markets on the horse finishing in the places i.e. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd)

£8 To place on Blue Tomato 215 Muss (Tried and tested at this level and should go near torepeating earlier Musselburgh win.)
