A few emails from you suggesting that we should do a Big Mike Cruise in the future now that we are so well in with Captains of these Liners. Gem of an idea but I think we could be aiming a little high there so sticking to the Faro format this year.
I have now booked the Hotel and reserved at this stage all of the 10 Bedrooms at the Hotel which you can see via :-http://www.acolinahotel.com/. The Hotel is 10 minutes only from the best beaches in Europe and even in October the weather will still be lovely. The plan is for me to go over some Trading moves, chat with members and wives and answer any problems. It is not a formal event and will be fun and the food at the Hotel is just sublime. Friday October 9th (first member arriving at Faro Airport at 9am) until Sunday October 11th. Just email me if interested as there is room at the moment and I have a back up if we need more than the 10 bedrooms. Friday night there will be a Jazz Night & a Gala Dinner on the Saturday. Flights still very cheap and I will collect you from the airport.
On the Cricket I have changed the position a little in the hope (!) we have enough time to create a position to force a very unlikely victory.
The Turbos again showed their use with the Bolger horse finishing just out of the frame (was backed to 114!) and also – even better – War Artist – was backed down to 1.02 & finished just out of the frame. These boys KNOW what they are doing and all I can repeat is that we are dealing with some absolutely brilliant financial minds out there so you have to take remedial action which I think we have now done. The War continues.
Laying. Forum posts. Currently Dean is having a rest and Old Owl has retired – very graciously – to the back benches as one of his main instruments to assess his lays is not currently available. Should those special Ratings reappear then Old Owl will be back. In the meantime I have looked again at various systems.
About this time of year – given the decent length of stats available – I like to look at the Coral Naps Table in the Racing Post. There are over 50 scribes in the Competition – full time – well paid contributors to Newspapers with all the Avante Garde facilities one would require to make substantial profits for their readers. Of the 52 just 12 are in profit from their BEST bet of the day. Yes their BEST. I had a couple of Trades last year using ‘The Kite’ (Alan Keyte) and also ‘The Cull’ (Mel Cullinan) as both these guys liked to ‘Nap’ fairly short priced horses in the belief that regular wins would keep their readers happy.
This time I am looking at something different. Of the 52 journos 7 are from the Racing Post and of those just 1 is in front this time. I am therefore going to trial a blanket lay system using these ‘tips’ to a liability of £10 a head for the month of August. There will be time of course when my suggestion is amongst their naps – even so – I will be
laying that horse to the £10 liability otherwise the exercise will have no value whatsoever. Its just tough luck if they select one of mine. Looking for a name for these lays so please suggest a title.
The 230 at Market Rasen looked an excellent frame early doors – but guess what? – of course the Brown Envelope Factory working overtime to get three no hopers out of the contest to reduce the field to 7. Micky Hammond has done very well here as he had 2 of the 3.
Its the 143rd day of the Galway Festival – or seems like it – but the Irish who plan so cleverly are still not out of Guinness. The going there will not be Good to Firm.
Just One Live Blog Bet from me today an £8 Hughie (A bet on the horse finishing placed i.e. 1st, 2nd or 3rd and is played via Betfair’s place markets)
£8 place only on Right Option 305 MR (Has been very consistent this term and finally pulled one off at Newton Abbott last time and the penalty doesn’t look over severe in this company.) pitching at 1.48
Price at the end is price to take or if pitching and not taken then bet 5 mins pre race at best. Obviously take care & adjust when drifting substantially or if horses taken out.
