Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you offer ‘Free Trials’?
I no longer offer free trials for a number of reasons;
Firstly, nowadays it is very easy for people to obtain free email accounts and simply keep re applying for the ‘free trial’, and I feel this is unfair on me and my existing full paying members.
Secondly I am very good at what I do. I work long hours studying, planning and producing my daily email columns, additionally I am available all day and evening to answer member’s questions via the forum, chat centre and email, therefore feel I deserve to be paid for what I do.
Thirdly, this service is completely different to anything else you will have come across before. Not least because we actually make consistent profits here, but more importantly, the service requires a certain amount of commitment from you to embrace my methods and strategies and finally change your gambling mindset and instincts. In my experience nothing worth striving for in life comes either free or easy, so in my opinion to become a successful or even professional member of my service, you will need to be committed to both grasping and learning what it is we do here. To that end I don’t believe the mindset of a ‘Free Trialist’ is the same as someone who has actually paid for membership.
Finally, the change of mindset that is required cannot be achieved during a 1 week free trial and in all honesty it probably takes most people at least two to three months before the penny begins to drop and they finally start to grasp the concept behind the service.
So, if you are seriously interested in working with me and transforming the way you bet forever, I require you to at least make the commitment of paying me for my services. Having said that you still have my Personal Guarantee to fall back onto, should you find that the service is just not what you have been looking for.
2. If your service is as profitable as you say it is, why don’t you just live off the profits you make from betting?
Fair question, well I do bet the selections and I do well from them too. The strict discipline in having to write the column also helps me to make even more money, as I am more focused in spotting the frames required to make those profits. The work that goes into the column gives me extra opportunities I would not have if merely a punter.
I also still get a ‘big kick’ out of running the service, I put a lot of work into producing what I feel is a top quality product and to be brutally honest my wife enjoys the steady income produced from the membership subscriptions.
I also enjoy the professional pride I get from educating others, on how to follow the more defensive and profitable route I take. Gambling has been and will continue to be the ruin of many a man (or woman). It is therefore important to me to demonstrate that there is another ‘profitable way’ to still enjoy the thrills of betting. The strategies I employ successfully demonstrate a way of making steady profits from betting strategically. The bets and trades I play are key to successful strategic betting and in the end, profitability rather than penury.
I get a huge sense of satisfaction from changing punters mindsets from gambling, into a more relaxed ‘investor like’ approach, which is certainly the way forward.
3. Do you back all the bets you select for the service yourself?
Yes I do them all to the stakes advised, however I split them half with Bookmakers (often using Best Odds Guaranteed) and half with Betfair. Also if opportune I load the stakes a bit, so I can also place some in running lays at a lower level in order to protect my downside.
4. Do you have losing days or losing runs?
Sadly yes. Losing days more so than losing runs. Sometimes the dice doesn’t fall right and I never chase losses, as I know I will see better frames in days to come. Losing runs are rare, as I tend to play more defensively as I get older!
5. What time of day can I expect to receive your daily column?
Usually at least half an hour before racing though I produce the column much earlier (around 11am) during the winter months
6. What type of person joins this service?
Hopefully a more reserved punter who wants to make profits gradually. Those who seek a get rich quick fix are just not wanted, as there is little hope for gamblers. My policy is to produce winning bets not necessarily winners.
7. If I join what is the best way for me to start profiting from the service?
If you are patient I want you to commence by just playing the place bets whilst you begin to get a feel for the rest of the service. The Place Bets (The Hughie’s) will achieve regular success – such is the nature of the bet – which in turn will provide a good betting bank for the Double Diamond and Dunlop bets from the profits achieved.
8. What are your recommended stakes and what size of betting bank would you recommend I need?
All bets are based on a 5% betting bank. For the place bets (The Hughie’s) I use a £400 bank, 5% or £20 would be a maximum place bet, 3% or £12 is a solid place bet, 2% or £8 is for a reasonably good place bet, 1% or £4 is normally regarded as a ‘fair shout’ place bet and a 0.5% or £2 place bet will be for a slightly more speculative ‘chancer’.
The major double (The Double Diamond) is played to a £70 stake so the bank required there would be £1400. The more expansive double (The Dunlop) is staked at £65 and therefore a bank of £1300 is required.
9. Do you proof your bets?
Yes I proof to the following three Independent Arbiters;
www.secretbettingclub.com; www.racingproofing.com and www.racinginformationdatabase.com
10. Is it really possible to become one of the 1% of people making money out of betting?
Well I am doing it OK and so are many of my members. We make money over the medium to longer term – at a slower pace maybe than wanted by many – but by doing so betting banks are gradually improved and in the end all bets in effect are being funded by other peoples money.
11. Will I definitely make money from your service?
If you carefully follow the path I tread then I promise you will certainly get there.
