“Sets a benchmark that any serious business in this market will want to follow”

I should like to start this review by quoting from Big Mike’s website which says “it is important to emphasise one basic point, that Mike is NOT a ‘tipster’ or not at least in the sense that you would understand the normal meaning of the word. Instead he is more of a planner or strategist who compiles a series of bets, which are generally unpopular with the bookmakers.”

This is a very fair description of what Mike offers and it really is up to the individual to take as much or as little advantage of the service as they wish.

If you are not prepared to invest some time initially – hours rather than minutes – then the service will not suit you.

If you just want tips then again the service is not for you. The website is possibly a little daunting at first look but when you spend a little while delving into the advice offered it is unusually clear and easy to decide what elements of it you need to review.

Rarely have I seen such a well written site and even better – all the historic results are available as well, which in my view is essential for a serious betting business but so often not available despite the money apparently won.

Mike is the very antithesis of that approach and hopefully sets a benchmark that any serious business in this market will want to follow. Every level of bettor will benefit from this service from a total novice to hardened punter.

The service is based on a daily email advice of bets which have been explained in the educational areas. For example the basic bet is the Hughie and another popular one is the Double Diamond.

These bets are recommended following significant daily form study and the day is then followed up through the forum which can be quite entertaining.

Trading advice is given through the forum in play and it seems the general view is that trading is the way forward for professionals.

You will always know where you stand as regards the advice given, Mike does not hide his reasoning for any given line of strategy. You may disagree with some of his thoughts but I suspect he would have the last laugh.

There is, however, very little point in my trying to explain in detail what Mike offers – he does it better than I could on his website and you can investigate the service for a month risk free.

I would suggest that this is an Oxford or Cambridge quality course in becoming a successful professional better – to quote Mike “Gambling is for idiots” – and at a very reasonable subscription.

All the major sports can be followed – although the foundation of things is very much on the turf – and the writer has gained a sure fire way of making money on 1 day cricket matches which is probably worth the subscription alone.

A good example of the underlying principle that Mike employs can be seen in the recent Scotland v Wales rugby match where most were backing Scotland.

Mike took advantage of this whilst still placing some insurance bets in case Scotland managed to overcome their natural ability to lose when they should win. The net result was a 113% return on the money staked.

It is difficult to think of any reason not to try out this service unless perhaps you do not have the necessary time to become fully involved, in which case I might ask why are you considering being a bettor at all?

Normally you would expect to have several elements to your portfolio to balance the risk but even this is taken care of here.

Personally I see no reason why you could not rely on Big Mike alone – the biggest danger would be cessation of the service for any reason, but if that were to happen at some stage in the future, you could well be self sufficient by then anyway.

“Big Mike is quite simply an absolute legend when it comes to betting advice. Mike is a no-nonsense Northerner (is there any other kind?) who provides daily advice with his fantastic betting columns. “A Very Successful Service”

Much like the man himself, Big Mike Betting boasts very big profits and high levels of customer support. Having been a member for almost a year now after being recommended by so many positive reviews online, I’ve decided to summarize my findings in the hope that I can point readers onto what I feel is a very successful service.

Mike provides information on a variety of sports through the form of a ‘daily column’. Here the best bets of the day are outlined and strict advice is given on staking and odds.

His primary focus is on horse racing, something which is advised everyday, although additional advice is often given on a variety of other sports; usually the main sporting event at that time (i.e. Wimbledon, World Cup etc.). There is also advice given on trading sports, and low risk betting so to lock in a guaranteed profit. I often do this myself with other services but am glad that someone has shown the initiative to include it as part of the subscription.

Concerning profits, Mike’s service is certainly something you have to be prepared to join for the long run. It’s not a get rich quick scheme (as is emphasized on the website). However, if you can comfortably cover the costs of subscription and, to advised stakes, make enough to double your betting bank over the course of a year then I am certain there should be no issues with patience.

Admittedly when I first joined the service it took a while to get the hang of the staking, and I didn’t start using the advised stakes until I felt comfortable (in this case about 6 months). Mike advises the placement of different betting banks, something which I adhered to from early on in joining and as such each bank allows for their own winning/losing runs without having a detrimental effect on the overall scheme of things.

Since joining I have placed just over 400 bets, of which I have seen a return on 75% of bets (primarily the very high strike rate place selections). This leaves a net profit approaching £5,000.

I should also mention that there is an excellent forum with a healthy member input. I’ve found lots of useful advice on how to best utilize the tips here as well as information on events not covered by the big man.

“This is no Tipping Service; It’s Actually a Degree Level Education in Becoming a Professional Punter”

First, I must declare an interest here. I am the guy who updates the results + P&L for the Racing arm of this service. No one asked me to write a testimonial but as I’ve done this job for at least 7 years now I feel qualified to comment and indeed expand on what’s already been written above.

Mike’s pretty much unique in this game. He can sniff out value from a 100 paces and comes up with simply unique bets that are designed to extract that value for the least possible risk. Ever heard of the half straight/half equally divided E/W Double? Well neither has any bet settler software, so I have to do them on a calculator and I hate Bank holidays as these bets multiply like mushrooms. However, they retrieve stakes so often that they are a staple of the service.

Every year Mike comes up with at least a couple of new ‘stick it to the bookie’ type bets but also, some lose their edge over time. My personal fav was the 2 way Rugby bet which was were the bookies opinion differed on the hcp, so you couldn’t lose say a £100 bet either side £200 staked, but would only get £180 back if the hcp didn’t get hit. When it did you made £180 profit for an actual £20 risk, never satisfied Mike did a Tie bet on top which made for some spectacular payouts for very small risk.

The bookies got hit so hard, that these bets are rare now and Mike likely was the major factor. Rugby markets are over 1000 times smaller than Soccer and likely to remain so until we win the Rugby World Cup again.

The first 2 years were pretty rocky. Not for profits but because so many people just wanted a tipping service. Mike’s outlook is that people should learn to think for themselves and eventually understand the techniques used. It’s simple really. Once a Punter understands the concept of ‘Value’, he will never bet the same way again and year-on-year will always make money.

In the early days those who joined and learnt Professional punting tended to leave the service and those who just wanted tips tended to leave because the bets took too much time to actually place every day. However this all changed when the forum was implemented and nowadays (and I think most forum regulars would agree) members would pay the fees for access to the forum alone, such is the quality of the people there.

I myself joined his service close to the start and it also coincided with me starting work with a Pro football punter who I also became a runner for. Neither man has met & the Pro football punter demands a low profile. But both these guys bet in unique ways that keep bookies on the hop and therefore keep extracting cash from them. Being piggy in the middle has been very beneficial too me and it’s why I continue to put up with the frustration of so much manual bet settling.

If you can commit to 12 months of learning the methods and techniques provided by this service, you will find yourself making a lot of money. Like anything worthwhile, it does take time to learn not only the unique bets but then to understand why that bet type was used for a particular event or race.

Some methods are much easier than others and Big Mike Betting is an education not a tipping service. The daily emails are really to get you up & running quickly but the education will be what changes your life. If you can commit to 12 months and lets say just 30 minutes a day in the forum, your eyes will be opened to a completely different way of betting, but you will be a different person too & you won’t hang around a bookies all day for company sharing hard luck stories, the mentality is totally different.

When you understand the concept of ‘Value’, you can see Poor Value as well as Good Value. Then you will have to actually workout a daily route just to spread your bets around town. As I say, it’s a whole new lifestyle but a very profitable one.

Finally, the Pro’s in the forum will help any member they feel is keen to learn & after 12 months you’ll rejoin simply to maintain forum access even though there’s so much else.

Just one piece of advice though, spend your first 2/3 weeks reading your start up material in the members area and previous forum posts first. So many questions you may have when you first sign up are well covered already in these two resources and it’s a sign of laziness not to actually read old threads or use the search facility to see if your query has already been asked.

The forum is now ‘the’ place for pro punters to gather nowadays and they are really very friendly. But please don’t abuse their hospitality. Search first, if no luck, then ask and you’ll be fine. Be warned though, this is no Tipping Service, its actually a degree level education in becoming a professional punter once learned, never forgotten.

The upside is financial and gaining a new set of genuine loyal friends with a like mindset. You view the world through new eyes and see how gullible we were before. The downside is having to actually split up bets between bookies for stealth and eventually stake size.

You’ll know you’ve made the transition when you have your first bet refused & then get barred from the shop. Later on though it’s downright frustrating when you actually have to travel to another town to place your bets. I’ve done this for 10 years now but have had to travel for the last 2 to get anything on. You just have to accept it comes with the territory!
